Design for Hygiene
A hygienic cup starts on the drawing board. Our cups are engineered to facilitate effective cleaning:
- Surface Finish: We use high-gloss polished moulds. This creates a smooth surface that resists staining and prevents residue from adhering, making the wash process more effective.
- Geometry: The internal curves of the cup are designed to prevent water pooling. Sharp corners are avoided to ensure that wash jets can reach every part of the vessel.
- Stacking Vents: When cups are stacked while damp, mould can develop. Our cups feature engineered stacking lugs or ribs that ensure an air gap between nested cups, promoting airflow and thorough drying.
Professional Washing Standards
Reusable cups at large events are typically cleaned in industrial washing tunnels. These machines operate at high temperatures (sanitising phase often exceeds 80°C) and use commercial detergents.
