Replacing Glassware Without Dropping Standards
Reusable plastic pint cups are shatterproof 568ml cups designed to do the job of a pint glass in venues where glass is a liability. We mould ours in the UK from food-grade polypropylene and UKCA mark the measure, so they can be used to serve draught beer and cider legally.
The case for switching is usually written in breakage. Glassware is a permanent replacement line on a venue P&L, and every broken glass is a cost, a clean-up and, in a busy room, a genuine safety risk. A plastic pint cup that survives being dropped removes all three, which is why beer gardens, festivals, stadiums, arenas and late-night venues moved to glass-free as standard rather than as an exception.
What holds a switch back is a fear of dropping standards, and that is fair — a flimsy, hazy cup does make a good pint look worse. The answer is material grade and wall section. We mould from high-impact PP5 with a rim and wall specified for repeat handling, so the cup feels substantial in the hand and stays clear rather than clouding after a few dozen washes.
Compliance is the part that has to be exactly right. If you are selling draught by the pint, the cup must carry a UKCA mark and the fill line has to be moulded to a verified tolerance. We own the tooling and check the measure before a batch ships, so what you serve from is compliant rather than merely described as such. Plastic beer glasses without a verified line are not a legal pint.
Operationally they behave like glass and store better than it. They run in the glasswasher you already have at up to 60°C, rated for 200 or more cycles, and they stack far tighter than glassware — which is worth a great deal in a cellar or a concourse where space is the constraint. Minimum order is 50 units for a trial, scaling well past 100,000 for a venue roll-out.
